THE HEARING SOLUTION Mission

In 2001, The Hearing Solution opened to address some of the limitations in the wider field of audiology. Most practitioners treat their patients with basic screening – followed by a hurried hearing aid selection.

Frustrated by the poor results this strategy produced, we took a radically new approach to hearing loss diagnosis and treatment – one built around real-world testing and personalized care.

What sets The Hearing Solution apart from other audiological treatments is our unique blend of:

  1. In-Depth Consultations – All of our treatments begin with detailed consultations – not just with our patients, but also with their frequent communication partners.
  2. Audiometric Evaluations – We thoroughly screen patients to help pinpoint the exact cause of their hearing loss and the most appropriate treatment solutions.
  3. Real-World Testing – It’s not enough to simply hear sounds. Our goal is to ensure patients can clearly understand what is being said in noisy, real-world environments.
  4. Advanced Technology – We offer a wide range of customizable hearing aids from leading manufacturers. Our patients can then “test drive” their hearing aids in the real world.
  5. Speech Mapping – We conduct speech mapping and pitch registry to ensure that patients can properly process sounds – even in noisy, ambient environments.
  6. Auditory Training – Even mild hearing loss can change the structure of the brain. But with training, it’s possible to strengthen neural pathways and improve sound processing.

However, our comprehensive services extend well beyond diagnoses and treatment.

Frequently Asked Questions

What services does an audiologist provide?

Audiologists offer a wide range of services to address hearing and balance issues. These include comprehensive hearing evaluations, hearing loss and balance disorders diagnosis, personalized hearing aid fittings, and tinnitus management. They also provide custom ear protection and hearing conservation programs, ensuring your hearing health is well taken care of with the latest technology and compassionate care.

How do I know if I need to see a hearing specialist?

If you find yourself frequently asking others to repeat themselves, struggling to follow conversations in noisy environments, or experiencing ringing in your ears, it might be time to see a hearing specialist. Other signs include turning up the volume on your TV or radio louder than others prefer, or having trouble understanding speech over the phone. A hearing specialist can thoroughly evaluate your hearing needs and recommend appropriate solutions.

Are hearing aids the only solution for hearing loss?

While hearing aids are a common and effective solution for many types of hearing loss, they aren't the only option. Other treatments like medical or surgical interventions may be recommended depending on the nature and cause of your hearing loss. A consultation with a qualified audiologist will help determine the best course of action tailored to your needs.

How often should I get my hearing checked?

It's generally recommended that adults have their hearing tested at least once every three years, especially if you're over the age of 50. However, if you are experiencing any symptoms of hearing loss or are frequently exposed to loud noises, you should consider having your hearing checked more frequently. Regular check-ups can help detect any changes in your hearing early, allowing for timely intervention and management.

What qualifications are required for your audiologists?

Our audiologists are highly trained professionals with doctoral degrees in audiology. They are certified and licensed to practice, bringing extensive experience and knowledge to every patient interaction. Their qualifications ensure that you receive expert care tailored to your individual hearing needs.

Do I need a referral to see an audiologist?

In most cases, you do not need a referral to see a doctor of audiology. You can simply schedule an appointment directly with our office. However, it's always a good idea to check with your insurance provider to understand your coverage and any specific requirements they may have. Our friendly staff is also available to assist with any questions you might have about referrals and appointments.
